Frequently asked questions and answers about Aussie Outback Safaris Monkey Mia tours and Red Earth Safaris Exmouth tours
What is the price of the 8-day Monkey Mia Exmouth Tour?
If you book your tour online via this website or have other types of qualifying credentials there is a discount which reduces your cost to only $985 per person.
What are the tour departure dates?
The "8 Day Exmouth Monkey Mia Tour" departs from 7.00 am every Monday morning and returns to Perth around 2.00 pm on the following Monday afternoon. Kindly refer conditions. We also pick up at other locations on our drive out of Perth, depending on where you are staying.
The Monkey Mia charter and the 2-day Pinnacles tour can be arranged to suite your particular requirements.
What are the maximum number of passengers per tour?
To ensure full passenger comfort at all times we will not accept more than 18 guests per tour.
Where do we join the tour?
The tour departs at 7.00 am from the tourist coach rank outside the Wellington Street Bus Station in the city of Perth, Western Australia. Please be there at least 10 minutes before departure time. Given ample prior notice we can pick you up from some Northbridge or Perth city hotels and backpacker hostels.
What kind of accommodation do we get?
Most nights are spent in backpacker hostels. Upgrades to twin rooms are possible. Just tell us your preference. Please note that late bookings and local holidays may limit availability.
Our real Aussie Outback night is different. Here the accommodation can best be described as basic. We will be the only people there, on a remote sheep/cattle station (farm), using the shearer's quarters and kitchen.
At the station, typically, guests get the beds out of the quarters and line them up to sleep under the magnificent outback stars.
We also run separate charters. You tell us what you want, and where, and we will arrange it. Contact us for a quote. The price will be very competitive and dependent on numbers and the specific accommodation you decide upon.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your own sleeping bag if you have one or ask us to supply one at the time of your tour booking. You'll need to bring comfortable walking shoes, casual clothing, swimming clothes, toiletries, towel, camera, torch, sun hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, water bottle and music. Don't forget any personal medications. Pack all items into a single small soft bag, and have a separate smaller bag to keep with you on the bus. There is a 15kg weight limit per person. If you have a larger bag, inform us prior to the trip to make arrangements to leave it in secure storage.
What about vegetarians?
Mention any special dietary requirement at the time of your booking. We will do our best to meet all reasonable requirements. Vegetarians regularly mention how well they are catered for in our guest book.
Do I need any extra money for anything?
You will only need extra money for souvenirs and personal spending. There is the opportunity at Monkey Mia to go on a Shark Bay wildlife cruise. This cost is around $40. Other opportunities on tour which incur a cost are abseiling ($40). At Coral Bay there are a range of excusions, from a day tour swimming and snorkelling with manta rays, so 2-hour snorkelling tours at Coral Bay. Or even the chance to take a quad bike to an isolated beach to go snorkelling with turtles. Between April and July, there is also the opportunity for the experience of a lifetime to swim alongside the world's largest fish, the magnificent gentle giant, the whaleshark.
What if it rains?
We usually sleep under the stars because that's the thing our guests love to do most. However, we have a range of alternatives should people want a roof. Rain is extremely unlikely between October and May.
Are there special prices for children or groups?
Though we do not offer children's rates as such, we do offer "Family Specials". e-mail us to discuss particular requirements. We can also offer very attractive rates for group bookings, and specialise in Exchange School excursions. Send us an E-mail through our enquiry page for more information.
Are your tours only suitable for a certain age group?
Not in the least. As long as you are reasonably fit and healthy and enjoy the outdoor life you should have a ball on your Red Earth Aussie Outback Safari tour. Note however that the tour is not suitable for children under 5 years.
Do you have any testimonials about the tours?
