What are the maximum number of passengers per tour? To ensure full passenger comfort at all times we will not accept more than 14 guests per tour. Where do we join the tour? The tour departs at 7.00 am from the tourist coach rank outside the Wellington Street Bus Station in the city of Perth, Western Australia. Please be there at least 10 minutes before departure time. Given ample prior notice we can pick you up from some Northbridge or Perth city hotels and backpacker hostels. What kind of accommodation do we get? Most guests prefer to swag under the stars protected by a well-sealed mozzie dome tent. We can also accommodate guests with a wide range of options, from tents, to quality, en-suite rooms. Just tell us your preference. Please note that late bookings and local holidays may limit availability. First night is beautiful Kalbarri. It is also possible to do a bush camp at the Hutt River Province (enquire when booking - dependent on local conditions at the time and Royal commitments). Second night is at the Monkey Mia International Resort. Here guests can sleep in their swags under the stars, quite literally on the dolphin beach. However you can also upgrade to luxury en-suite accommodation by the beach if you wish. Third night is under the Outback Sky at Eurardy Station. Again most guests swag under the stars. You can also use one of our tents or upgrade to a room. On each night we have access to good toilet and shower facilities. Many people like the idea of the swag under the stars but are unsure about unwelcome visitors in the night. Our easy to erect Mozzie dome tents allow you to enjoy the outback stars in absolute security, and sleep soundly. We also run separate charters. You tell us what you want, and where, and we will arrange it. Contact us for a quote. The price will be very competitive and dependent on numbers and the specific accommodation you decide upon. What are "swags"? Swags are the traditional Australian bed rolls used by drovers, bushmen or swagmen. It contains everything you need to make a comfortable bed, such as pillow and mattress, when sleeping outdoors. With a Mozzie dome tent they are the perfect combination for the Australian Outback. What do I need to bring? Bring your own sleeping bag if you have one or ask us to supply one at the time of your tour booking. You'll need to bring comfortable walking shoes, casual clothing, swimming clothes, toiletries, towel, camera, torch, sun hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, water bottle and music. Don't forget any personal medications. Pack all items into a single small soft bag. There is a 10kg weight limit per person. If you have a larger bag, inform us prior to the trip to make arrangements to leave it in secure storage. Do we really go down that sand dune in the website and brochure? We call this Suicide Dune. It is an extreme descent and is only done when conditions are suitable. Although we cannot guarantee it, we do get to do it most weeks. *Safety is paramount so dune access depends on track conditions. What about vegetarians? Mention any special dietary requirement at the time of your booking. We will do our best to meet all reasonable requirements. Vegetarians regularly mention how well they are catered for in our guest book. Do I need any extra money for anything? You will only need extra money for souvenirs and personal spending. There is the opportunity at Monkey Mia to go on a Shark Bay wildlife cruise. This cost is around $30. Other opportunities on tour which incur a cost are abseiling ($30), a visit to Ocean Park to see the marine wild life at up close, including Tiger Shark feeding ($5), and a visit to the Pearl Farm ($10). Prices correct as of August, 2006. What if it rains? We usually sleep under the stars because that's the thing our guests love to do most. However, we have a range of alternatives should people want a roof, or tent above their head. Rain is extremely unlikely between October and May. Are there special prices for children or groups? Though we do not offer children's rates as such, we do offer generous "Family Specials", with discounts up to $100 per person. See our discounts page for further information.
